Finnish Hub vision workshop at Helsinki Design Week

The Finnish Sustainable Packaging Hub, led by CLIC Innovation, organised a vision workshop as part of the Helsinki Design Week programme.
📦🚀Entitled  “Packaging of the Future”, the workshop invited the participants to imagine new sustainable packaging solutions. Co-organised by Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, the workshop targeted second year industrial and textile design students.

The aim of the workshop was to co-create new types of future packaging solutions in line with the EU’s 4R framework (refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle). The workshop was realised using the LEGO® Serious Play® method, which provides a creative and kinetic approach to vision work.

💎 The challenge was approached from different perspectives: while some emphasised simplicity in design and avoiding excessive use of materials, others focused on optimising the logistics chain to save resources.

💎 The premise of making packaging redundant was at the heart of several final visions. This demonstrates creative, out-of-the-box thinking beyond the constraints of state-of-the-art solutions.

💎 The workshop raised awareness of sustainability and eco-design principles, thus sensitising future designers to these issues.
