On November 9th, we hosted our third engage4BIO co-creation workshop in Austria, focusing on planning three innovative knowledge gain activities for the next 1.5 years. A dynamic and diverse group of experts generated a range of ideas, from which we selected three for further in-depth exploration. The workshop highlighted the crucial role of the arts in crafting impactful awareness campaigns and reaching a wider audience.
The group conceived a major event, tentatively titled “Circular Residency,” where artists engage with materials to spark discussions about wood-based bioeconomy through their artwork. Various artists with diverse specializations will work with materials sourced from demolition houses or vacant properties with historical significance in Linz. Each artist will have one week to create a piece of art, accompanied by info walls facilitating critical discussions on wood and other bioeconomic materials in the construction industry.Another planned activity is a bioeconomy game designed for use at fairs, with students and conferences, serving as a memorable giveaway. The third idea centres on information accessibility, proposing the development of a website offering downloadable materials—podcasts, videos, pictures, etc.—tailored for different target groups. Now, our focus shifts to implementing these ideas over the next 18 months. We are committed to reaching a wide audience in the region, fostering discussions, and encouraging critical reflections on the bioeconomy topic. Stay tuned for exciting developments!
