From the 7th to the 11th of December, at Mazzara del Vallo (Sicily, Italy), took place Blue Sea Land, the expo of Clusters of the Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East.
The event, organized by the Blue Fishing and Growth District (partner of Engage4BIO) offered workshops, conferences and events that have benefited from the contribution of illustrious academics, economists and diplomats.
Engage4BIO has been there in two different occasions.
On the 8th of December, Maria Schrammel (ZSI) and Concetta Messina (UNIPA) presented the goals of the project, linked to the marine biobased products and social engagement, at the workshop “Sustainable bioeconomy for the regeneration of the regional land and sea landscape”. The event was organized under the patronage of the European Society of Marine Biotechnology (ESMB).
Then, on the 10th of December, Serena Fabbrini (APRE) joined the speakers of “Sustainable management of the coastal marine system”, final event of BioGoal, project funded by the Italian Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea, to present Engage4BIO mission and goals. CNR IAS (National Research Council – Institute for the study of Anthropic Impact and Sustainability in the Marine Environment) chaired the debate on the European Mission “Restore Our Oceans and Waters by 2030” and BluMed. It was also the opportunity to discuss about sustainable development policies in Sicily and prospects for the sustainable management of the coastal marine system, together with local and national stakeholders.
